I am sure you have not thought too much about this, but it turns out that you probably are a romantic.
Why do I say that? I recently came across some research by Williams and Kleinke reported in 1993. They found that if someone was a romantic – they believed in love at first sight, that love conquers all, and things like that – then, after having physical contact with someone new, they would want to continue working with that person. Not to say they were in love with them, but that they would be keen to keep working with them. People who were not romantics would rather not have physical contact with people they did not know in the first place. The fact that you keep coming back to dance lessons to work with another person(s) in close physical contact to improve your dance ability, means you are likely a romantic. Along with the rest of us! Welcome to the club. Speaking of the “club”, group classes this week:
Also, this Saturday, I will be going to a bachata (and street Latin social dance – with a lesson). You can read more about it here - https://www.facebook.com/events/6258650760849123. It is not as close as the usual places we go, but a few students have been wanting to go to a street Latin event. And Bachata ConeXion does do a good job. I will be there so you will know at least one person there. It will also be interesting to see what the street Latin scene is like and what it is like to go to an event where everyone has specialised in one dance for an extended period. So come along if you are keen to experience this. Also, let me know if you are interested, but still unsure, and have some questions. See you on the dance floor Clint
