First off, group classes this week:

• Monday 7:30pm Street Latin - bachata (the popular new kid on the block)
• Tuesday 6:30pm Latin American - samba (the most flamboyant of dances)
• Wednesday 7:30pm Swing and R'n'R - west coast swing (the dance of improvisation)
• Thursday 6:30pm Ballroom - foxtrot (the most refined of all the dances)

Second off, a social coming up: https://www.facebook.com/events/2515378145283069. This one will be a fun one - well even more fun than usual. It starts with trivia and then dancing. Get in touch so we can get a table and team together.
 
Third off, remember the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/767400293465916. We will soon be sharing more there that you will not see here and it is a good way to get to know other students more.
 
Fourth off, new group class format. We will soon be focusing on one style for 6 weeks at a time. We will still keep the social aspect the same. It's just that this way you will be able to really get into each dance as we stay with it for a period. 
 
Fifth and final, new staff. I will soon be announcing some new people coming on board. Something to get excited about.

• Tuesday 6:30pm: Latin American - Rumba (the most romantic of dances)
• Wednesday 7:30pm: Swing and R'n'R - Blues (the coolest of dances)
• Thursday 6:30pm: Ballroom - Tango (the ballroom one)

The group classes have been a lot of fun lately with good turn outs and good leads. So swing by to enjoy it yourself if you have not been coming along of late.
 
One of the reasons we have been promoting group classes is that the teachers are booked full with privates. We are therefore looking for more teachers. If you happen to know someone who would like to work as a dance teacher, then let them know.
 
Finally, we have set the dates for the awards nights this year:

• May 24, 
• Sep 6 and 
• Dec 13

As I always say, awards, and the progression system they are a part of, are an excellent way to see your dance skill improve. In fact, based on my own experience as a dance student, I have not experienced anything better. So next private lesson, talk to your teacher about your plan for the awards this year.

​I hope you were part of last week, we had good class sizes at each group and staff were busy teaching privates - there was quite the vibe in the studio.  And it does seem we are getting into 2023 with a number of new students signing up.
 
This week in the group classes we have:

• Tuesday 6:30pm: Latin American - Jive (stylised rock and roll)
• Wednesday 7:30pm: Swing and R'n'R - Rock and Roll (the rebel classic)
• Thursday 6:30pm: Ballroom - Quick Step (the swing of ballroom)
