As you have most likely noticed, the end of 2021 is approaching.
We will have our final night on Monday 20 December. This will include a BBQ, a quick lesson on some progressive dances, social dancing, and a short awards night (for those students who have been practicing for quite some time on and off over the sporadic lockdowns). Regardless of whether you are there for the awards (or to watch them), the lesson, the BBQ, the social dance or everything, it will be a good way to see the year out. I look forward to seeing you there Thanks in advance Clint

Masks Due to recent changes in regulation, we no longer need masks. That will make group classes especially more enjoyable, but all lesson in general will be better. Speaking of group lessons, we will still do the hand sanitization thing. It's just to help keep things safe - especially during hay fever season when people are more inclined to touch their face. Awards It was good to see how many students came back with enough skill for an awards before year's end. I have contacted Jenny and she is available. Thus, we might have a small awards night with a BBQ and dance social to see the year out. Talk to your teacher if you are up for an award. Regards Clint In this update:
This is indeed the week we return. All private lessons should be booked so drop your instructor a line if you feel this has not been arranged. And we are looking forward to seeing you in the group classes. Just drop in at the usual times. I have no idea what class sizes will be like, but regardless, you will get excellent teaching - our teachers have been waiting for this for ages, and very motivated. Group classes this week: Tuesday 6:30pm Advanced: argentine tango and salsa Beginner: argentine tango and salsa Wednesday 7:30pm Advanced: cha cha and waltz Beginner: cha cha and waltz Thursday 6:30pm Advanced: rock and roll and Lindy Hop Beginner: rock and roll and Lindy Hop New class times We now have Monday nights available. If you would like a private lesson then, then talk to your instructor to see what can be organised. We might even organise a new group class and weekly social on that night. We will keep you posted. What do you want? Now that things have changed (COVID and all), people will want different things. Therefore, we plan to organise a focus group session (organised by someone else so you can be frank). Give thought to if you would like to be part of this and what ideas you would like to share. 4 Week course We are starting the final 4 week course for the year. If you know anyone who has been thinking about dance, then this is a great way to try it out. Please send them this link - https://www.destinedance.com.au/intro-4weeks.html Gift vouchers We have set up some new gift voucher options on the website. If you know anyone who is looking for a gift for another person, then please share the page - https://www.destinedance.com.au/gift-certificates.html End of year event and over the summer We are still organising the end end of year event, but there will be one. Also, please take a look at the bands that will be playing at the Wickers over the summer - https://www.facebook.com/functionseventsepsc/events/. Each will be a chance to get together and dance. All the best I first wanted to say think you for sticking with us over the past two years especially. It has indeed been a time or trials in various ways.
I am thus looking forward to getting that chance to dance again. And you being part of that celebration. And that's why I am looking forward to the 16th when we open properly. I have pretty much filled up my slots with students. So if you're keen to start your private lessons and you have not organised this with your teacher, then please drop them a line. Due to the shake up of COVID, timetables have changed a bit. We will also now give thought to what we will do for the end of the year. If you have any desires, then drop me a line. But we will have something. In the interim, I wanted to share a podcast with you. This is about tango, but I will share other podcasts in the future. These can be great ways to get extra insights and appreciation of dance. Enjoy https://soundcloud.com/user-612466978 Clint |
