I have a bit to thank you for so please read on to feel appreciated.

Last week we had great turnouts at the group classes and we had one of the biggest turnouts yesterday with the live band event. I am very pleased to see this happen. The major goal for me when I started Destine Dance was to show people how dance can be a great part of their social life – more than just a hobby. So thanks for everyone who came and I look forward to seeing more of you next time.

Speaking of group classes, this is week 3 of the current cycle. So if you have been going to these classes, then now is the time to make sure you keep on going so you get the full benefit of what you have learned and developed thus far. As a reminder, the classes we are doing are:

• Monday 7:30pm Street Latin - Bachata (the ne sensual kid on the block)
• Tuesday 6:30pm Latin American - Cha cha (the fun and universal dance)
• Wednesday 7:30pm Swing and R'n'R - Lindy Hop (the classic of swing)
• Thursday 6:30pm Ballroom - slow Foxtrot (the most refined of dances)

Another pleasing event this week was our reviews on Google. We surpassed 70 5-Star reviews. That’s more than anyone else teaching similar dance in the state! I think this reflects the efforts to make Destine Dance a place that helps people get the most out of dance and the great people who work here – I always say I only employ good people. But it is you that gives us those 5-Star reviews so thanks for taking the time to do that. If you have not reviewed, then you can do so here - https://g.page/r/Cd34izcvQlAEEAI/review. If, however, you do not feel you are getting 5-Star service, then please drop me a line to talk about it. I am always open to talking about ways to be better – and I always appreciate you taking the time to let me know. In return, I will always let you know how I will take your advice on board.

Now that I have buttered you up, two favours to ask:

1. Someone has lost some rings at the venue. If you see them, then please let me know. Also, we do have a lost and found so if you ever notice anything that seems lost, then hand it to one of the teachers.
2. We are still exploring greater efforts in social media. This week we will be taking more photos for content development. Please let us know if you would like to not have any images of you taken. And, by all means, schmick yourself up a bit if you want to help make the content that much better.

It was quite a good time last night at the Santana cover band. Very good music to dance to and a great atmosphere. Thanks to those who came.

THE DESTINE DANCE FACEBOOK GROUP
You might already be a member, but we have not used it for a while. The Facebook page will still be used for updates and such, but we will use the Facebook group to share extra insights about dance and things going on at the studio. PROMOTION
In February, we will be running another 4-week program to get more people in for you to dance with. See the details here - https://www.destinedance.com.au/intro-4weeks.html. Share it with anyone you know who has been thinking about learning to dance and is ready to start in 2023.
 
SOCIAL EVENTS COMING UP
We had a great time on Saturday at Elwood Beach – I hope you saw the pictures. This Saturday it will be a Santana cover band at Carnegie Hall (https://www.facebook.com/events/1198657654400242/). And then Sunday week on the 29th it’s the Treblets at the studio (https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=628555115936571&set=a.516936113765139). Thanks to those who have let me know that they are coming. If you want to come along and have not yet let me know, then send a message. That way we can get a table together at each event/venue.
 
A RULE OF DANCE
Your teacher might already do this and you did not realise. If you are doing a stationary dance (say salsa), then you do it in the centre of the floor. That way, people who do travelling dances (say quickstep) can dance around the outside. Some studio etiquette.
