The most dramatic of dances

Tango Lesson Melbourne

A couple dancing tango in Melbourne
Like many other dances, the tango has a more convoluted history than many expect. When we talk of the tango, we are often talking about a version of the Argentine dance that was developed by the French. Click here if you do indeed want to learn the other tango. The French did not like the somber mood of the Argentine tango, but they did like aspects of its movement and the fact that it was not a sequence dance. By making it a bolder dance, the type you often see in the movies when the tango is danced, a new style was developed. Some of the original features have been kept. It still has a steady height as opposed to a rise and fall, it allows for sharp movements of the legs and the feet can leave the floor. However, the Ballroom Tango is now one of the boldest of dances and allows for much drama when done well.

If you like the idea of experiencing this drama, then make sure that the tango is one of the dances covered in your free trial lesson.
