Learn to dance Cha cha in Melbourne

The character of Latin street dancing and ballroom in one

If waltz and salsa had a baby

cha cha dancing - Melbourne
Cha cha is known to many today because it was part of the great wave of Latin American dances that were all the rage in the 1950s. It was codified at this time and is one of the major dance sport dances.

However, even though it has been codified and can be danced to a high level of precision, it's origins can be traced back to salsa. When people were dancing in Cuba (doing a style we would one day call 'salsa'. Some of the dances put in a chasse. This caught on and the sound of the whole dance floor of dancers doing this created a sound that musicians said sounded like 'cha cha cha'. The musicians then made music that suited the dance, and both the dance and music were born. The cha cha beat has also made its way into much of modern music through Latin blues, and cha cha is a dance you will be able to use in many social situations.

This combination of refinement, street dance origins and familiar music, make cha cha a Latin American dance that offers much to many. Today, cha cha is a dance that many find easier to pick up and enjoyable to dance. That's why it is the favourite of many.
