First off, remember there are no classes tonight. Other classes this week:

• Tuesday 6:30pm Latin American - Jive (if rock and roll and ballroom had a baby)
• Wednesday 7:30pm Swing and R'n'R - West Coast Swing (the dance of improvisation)
• Thursday 6:30pm Ballroom - waltz (the classic of all ballroom)

This will be the half way mark for this series of dances.

Thanks to those who came to the trivia night and live music event on Saturday. We had a table of 13 people representing Destine Dance - still didn't have enough answers to win the trivia though. Part of the group

Remember that it is the salsa and tango weekend at Gisborne this weekend. I will be there. And so will others. You can talk more about travelling in groups and such on the Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/DestineDance.

Speaking of social media, we will start collecting more content for online engagement. That means more photos and videos being taken within the studio. Of classes and student interviews and such. Let us know if you do not want to be in such content or if you are happy for a student interview should we do some.

• This Saturday night there is a table of us going to the trivia night and 80s music dance event at Carnegie Hall. Thanks if you are one of the ones who has let me know you are going. Drop me a line if you want to join in.

Who wants to ramp up their Argentine tango? 
Two of our new teachers, Andrés and Natalia, are excellent tango dancers. If you would like to take advantage of this, then let me know - they could book up fast.

Remember that we have now changed to the 6 week program. That means if you want to get good at any of these dances, then now is an excellent time come to the class - and keep going to it each week.
 
Social events coming up 
St Patrick's day at the studio this Friday. I will be there and you know we have a dance floor there so come along.

Thanks if you have contacted me about the trivia and 80's cover band at Carnegie Hall on the 25th. Looks like we will have a good group. If you are keen to go, and have not told me, then drop a line.

Have you joined the Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/DestineDance? Make sure you do, this is where we share external events that you would be interested in. There is an amazing dance and cultural event coming up that you would likely want to go to and the details are there. This is the kind of thing you learn dance for so you do not want to miss it: salsa, tango, Cuban food, Argentinian food, and live music. All in the Macedon ranges - we might even organize a bus for us all to take so it's even more fun.
 
A new format to the group classes
You might have seen the events on Facebook. After this week, we will stick with the one style for 6 weeks at a time in the group classes. This will help everyone get a better understanding of each dance and allow for more enjoyment. 
 
Update for those on group class subscription
If you are on the weekly subscription for group classes, then you can now get the occasional private at a discount if you ever feel you need some extra help like those people who do the privates get each week. Awards
The next awards night is on 24 May. These are, as I always say, an excellent way to accelerate your dance ability. I emailed people already registered for the awards today. Talk to your teacher if you did not get this email to make sure you are on the list - it will be months before the next one.
