I was going to mention awards, but we still have a bit of time for that.
I was then going to let you know the floor is clean after Monday's happening, but I mentioned that action was being taken in class. Then I thought I could mention how we have again had some odd behaviour from students, but it's not a big deal given how you (and the others who stick at dance) are great - but I have mentioned how you are a great group before. And then I recalled that the new cycle starts, and you can let others know about the 4 week program coming up - https://www.destinedance.com.au/intro-4weeks.html - but you know that and I mentioned it already. So all I can do is let you know about the group classes this week:

After a couple weeks of outings, we are having a quiet one this week.
It's the 4th week of the group class cycle:
See you on the dance floor Clint This week the group classes are:
As mentioned before, we have more class options now with the trial of the proficiency classes. You can see the details here - https://www.destinedance.com.au/proficiency-classes.html - remember that these are separate from other classes and you need to secure you place via the above link. Finally, we have more social events for you. This Saturday is a swing and blues event. You can see the details here - https://www.facebook.com/events/465991312615460. The night starts at 7:15 with a group class and then has a social to 11pm. It is at 44 Errol St North Melbourne. Get your tickets online. See you on the dance floor Clint This is the last week of the current 6 week cycle:
The next cycle is
Do you want to get even better? As mentioned on the FB page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/DestineDance - Philippa has some free slots on Tuesday this week. Ideal for any men or couples doing only group classes who want to get some focused help. Or even for any women wanting to enhance their styling and following. Let me know if you are interested. See you on the dance floor Clint Please keep the night of April 7 free. The plan is to go to a tango event in Richmond. It will be a Sunday night so not like the usual events we go to. But it will still be a good chance to dance tango in a social context. And given we are doing it now in group class, it's good timing.
Speaking of group class, please note the following:
Now as a reminder for group classes this week:
Finally - we will have class next Monday See you on the dance floor Clint This Saturday we will be checking out Groove Dimension. They are a very good band - I have seen them before and ideal for cha cha, jive, swing and more. Details are:
You can read more here - www.facebook.com/events/387410523651513 - note that this will be a popular event so we will likely do a lot of dancing in the foyer like we have before. Let me know if you are coming so I can organise a table. There was about 15 of us last time so it's good to be able to secure something together. This is also the last week of the current dance cycle. We will be doing:
This is the last week of the cycle so if you have been coming along, then stick at it so you can enjoy the week that offers you the best dance experience. If you have not been for a while, then next week is the ideal time to jump in. Starting on Monday 18th March we will be doing:
In the future, we are considering doing a break week between cycles so that we can spend time on dances that we do not do very often or are not suited to a full 6 week cycle, or maybe just one that has not been done for a while and not likely to be done soon. Give thought to any dance you have not done for a wile and would like to. See you on the dance floor Clint We start classes for the year on the 15th - that's one week away! This week, if you are a private student, your teacher should get in touch with you to organise your regular lessons. If you are a group class student and you want to subscribe to all classes, then you can do so here - https://www.destinedance.com.au/group-lessons.html Note. There has been an increase in prices to accommodate increasing costs for staff. But I have kept things competitive with other studios. Also, we still have the discount for uni-students and retirees doing privates and there is a discount if you buy 10 private lessons at once. Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on what they would like to learn. I was not able to accommodate all requests, but I did my best to put together a suite of lessons over the next few weeks that will cover most of what was desired. Please take a look at the website home page to see what we will be learning. Also, you can see that the dates for the awards have gone up - go check them out. Regards Clint This week we start a new cycle. This is an excellent time to start coming to the group classes if you have been waiting for the beginner level lessons. The classes for this cycle are:
A reminder about the Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/DestineDance. It is a place we post photos, share events, share links and engage with others on things related to the studio and dance. It's good to join. Finally, the studio space is not available cup eve (6th Nov) so instead we can go to an event at Carnegie Hall - www.facebook.com/events/764088975517082. This is a disco themed night so you can expect to have a good time. Let me know if you are going so we can get a table together. See you on the dance floor Clint Steel If you were at class on Thursday, then you might recall me saying we would not have a Thursday class this week. However, the reason for this cancellation has evaporated. So we can cancel that cancellation. The group classes this week are:
After this week, we start a new cycle in group classes: Salsa, Cha cha, Rock and roll, and slow Foxtrot. If you have not been going to group classes and waiting for the best time to jump in, then this is it. Also, if you know someone who has been wanting to learn to dance, then the 4 week intro offer is ideal for them. So share this link - https://www.destinedance.com.au/intro-4weeks.html. See you on the dance floor Clint There is a bit going on this week so take your time to read this to get across everything.
First off, we start a new cycle of group classes this week. So it's an ideal time to start back at the group classes if you have been away for a bit. The dance styles we are doing in the new cycle are:
Remember it is the awards this Wednesday. They run from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. If you want to attend to watch, because you are not doing them, and be part of the quick after party, which includes pizza, then secure your ticket here - https://www.destinedance.com.au/store/p38/Sep2023Awards.html And finally, there will be a media crew in at the Thursday group class. They will be getting imagery for a promo. They of course only want good looking images so if you are in any media, then you will look good. Still, if you do not want to be in any media, then they will work around you. See you on the dance floor Clint Steele |
