Update 24 Jul 2023 - Lots On

There are a few items to talk about this week.
 
Group classes
As you likely recall - it's the new cycle in group class. The dances this time are:

• Monday 7:30pm Street Latin - Merengue (a fun and sexy dance that is easy to learn)
• Tuesday 6:30pm Latin American - Samba (a fun dance expressing the energy of carnival)
• Wednesday 7:30pm Swing and R'n'R - Blues (practically by definition, the coolest of all the dance)
• Thursday 6:30pm Ballroom - Standard tango (the ballroom dance that once dominated the world)

Because it is a new cycle, it's the best time to jump in if you have not been to group in a while. After the 6 weeks you will be able to dance each of the styles for duration of an entire song and look OK doing it. Plus you get to be social and active. 
 
Tina Turner Tribute
This Saturday at the Dutch Club the Motown Band will be honouring Tina Turner. It will be a good night, like all the nights we have been to at the Dutch Club. Let me know if you will come so we can organize a table. You can see more details here - https://www.facebook.com/events/967893071000997. 
 
Burn the Floor
You might have heard of Burn the Floor. It is a ballroom dance company that infuses other styles into ballroom. They have a show on at the moment at the Palms - https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/artist/803589#about. If you would like to come along with a group from Destine Dance, then join the conversation in the Facebook group (www.facebook.com/groups/DestineDance/posts/2172376036301661) so we can get organized this week - for this Sunday. 
 
Awards
The next awards are on Sep 6. Save the date - we will make a night out of it for everyone - even if you are not going for an award. The awards are ideal for ensuring progressions as well - nothing like a deadline to get you focused so you learn faster. Talk to your private teacher if you have not yet locked in what you will be going for.
