As mentioned last week (and shared in the group) we have now organised for a group booking at the Gatsby Night in October. It's going to be a great night of music, dressing up in 1920's style (a bit better than the 2020's style to be honest), and dance.
You can book your ticket here - https://www.lifesaball.com.au/events/vip-save-the-date/. When you do, you will be asked if you are part of a group. Type "Destine Dance" and you will be part of the group booking. There's already 4 of us booked so join in. By the time of this event, we would have done some Jive, Lindy Hop, Cha cha, waltz and slow Foxtrot in group class. These are dances likely suited to the night so you well be well prepared. Speaking of group class: • Monday 7:30pm Street Latin - Merengue (a fun and sexy dance that is easy to learn) • Tuesday 6:30pm Latin American - Samba (a fun dance expressing the energy of carnival) • Wednesday 7:30pm Swing and R'n'R - Blues (practically by definition, the coolest of all the dances) • Thursday 6:30pm Ballroom - Standard tango (the ballroom dance that once dominated the world) This is week 5 so stick at it to enjoy what you have learned thus far. Soon we will be doing: • Kizomba • Jive • West Coast Swing • Waltz So if you are looking to jump in when the next cycle starts, then get ready. If you are not getting to all the group classes, then get your teacher to go over dances for the Gatsby night in your private lessons. But after you have prepared for the awards. I have emailed people about the details so make sure you got the email if you are going for an awards. Speaking of the awards. If you are not going for an award, but want to attend, then you can secure your ticket here - https://www.destinedance.com.au/store/p38/Sep2023Awards.html. $15 to support others, get a dance lesson and get some pizza. The bar will also be open - so a good night. Things will finish by 7:30pm in time for group class. See you on the dance floor Clint
