Classes this week:
See you soon Clint On the 21st of December we will have our awards night and end of year party.
I have already started collating the students for the awards so make sure your teacher knows exactly what you are going for. If you are coming just for the party - support those going for medals, have a BBQ, have a dance lesson, do some social dancing, and enjoy the open bar - then because it is a special night, the cost will be $20 and we will need you to register and pay prior to organize everything. You can email me direct or ask your teacher more about it. Group classes this week:
Clint Check out the attached photos. They are from the social on Sunday. It was a small group, but a great band – thus we all had a great time dancing. Remember we have another one this Sunday https://www.facebook.com/events/1112027289388671/. Let me know if you want to join us on a table. Also, we are a little under 2 months away from awards and the end of year party. Awards a great because they make you focus so you improve faster. I remember when I start to dance – I thought awards were more of a hassle. But I soon realised how much the sped up my improvement – I would not be emailing you today if not for the awards. I can personally attest to how vital they are to betterment.
Classes this week are:
See you on the dance floor First off, we are open on Tuesday. So looking forward to seeing you then.

CALENDAR UPDATES Please note that we will not have classes on the 5th or 15th of December. Update your calendars. SAVE THE DATE FOR THE AWARDS AND EOY PARTY Remember that the awards are on the 21st of December. We will have the bar open and put on a BBQ. That means we will have a cover charge. Save the date and invite people to come – it’s always a good night. I will have a link on the website soon to secure attendance for guests. STRIPE/ONLINE PAYMENTS Speaking of paying via the website, I have made some changes to the merchant system to make it easier to manager your payments. Please take look here if you are using the online system to pay for ongoing lessons - billing.stripe.com/p/login/3cs16DeO3gYH6tybII CHRISTMAS (OR ANY OTHER) GIFTS If you are looking for something to get someone as a gift, then consider dance lessons. Especially if they have been talking about learning. Also, they can buy you lessons as a gift. Just send them to this page - https://www.destinedance.com.au/gift-certificates.html. But make sure they don’t buy you an intro pack when you are already a student. We can also organize special tailored packs as well – just get them to contact us. ANOTHER MEMBER IN OUR COMMUNITY I like to support people in my network as much as possible. That’s why I have this page listing students’ businesses - https://www.destinedance.com.au/partner-companies.html. We have recently added a new business - https://southsidesounds.com.au (Southside Sounds) – check it out if you’re into guitars. So if you are getting ready for this or thinking about it, then make sure you are focused – it’s really not that far away. More details to come. NORMALITY The last couple weeks had some unexpected holidays and cancellations. However, we are now back to normal. So looking forward to getting into dance like we have done before. A NEW ANGLE ON THE SUBSCRIPTION CLASSES I have recently started an online campaign to promote the 4 dance classes a week as a fun and social alternative to other physical activities like gym. If you know someone who is looking for a fun and social way to get active, then please let them know about this. HELP WITH WEDDING COUPLES We have not had many wedding couples for a while – due to COVID. But lately, we have had quite a few. One of the things we do at Destine Dance is to have couples to do their routine at the end of a group class. This is so they can practice performing in front of people and be more prepared on the day. Gurpal and I hope to each have a wedding couple ready for the end of tonight’s group class. So be ready to enjoy a performance or 2 and emulate a wedding party. A FELLOW STUDENT’S BUSINESS If any student has a business to promote, then we are always happy to do so. You can see them here - https://www.destinedance.com.au/partner-companies.html. I have just added Magic Kids Life who provide excursions and incursions for kids to see a play about bullying. Click the link above to read more and share with anyone you know who might want to use that service. AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PART TIME WORK Join the entertainment industry working as a performer. Silent Discos for Kids are currently looking for dynamic, energetic performers or teachers who are passionate about working with children in a fun environment, running events for primary school incursions and excursions. See you on the dance floor Clint This is quite a full update this week, please take the time to read what’s here so you are aware of what’s going on. The key items are:
Social dance event coming up On October 2nd S&P Promotions will have Back Beat performing at The Dutch Club. Ideal dance music for R’n’R, blues, Jive and swing. I will be going. Let me know if you want to come along as a group so we can secure a table. Get more details here - https://www.facebook.com/events/563345972166181. It’s a great way to see the weekend out. Class options It is currently wedding season. That has made it hard to find times for private students who are either new to dance or wanting to come back. In the interim, you might want to explore the group class option. Ideal for steadily improving your ability, or maintaining it. And they are fun. Read more about your options for group classes here - https://www.destinedance.com.au/group-lessons.html - but you can drop in any time. Shoe Sale Thanks to Jenny for letting me know about this. Durrant shoes (our recommended supplier – you might have seen the vide we did with Yvonne some time back about dance shoes - https://www.facebook.com/DestineDance/videos/286742763318116) is having a sale with shoes going for as little as $60. You can contact them via their website for more details - https://www.durrantdanceshoes.com.au. A play you might be interested in One Riley Nottingham (creator & star of Nine's Metro Sexual), contacted me with an offer for Destine Dance people to get a discount for his new play – Manifesto – at the Melbourne Fringe Festival. A Musical Manifesto of unlikely friendships, dopamine addiction, working too hard and true love. By the end, he hopes you won't worry so much if you're feeling a little bit happy and a little bit sad at the same time. Discount Codes:
