QnA with Kim
What do you like most about dance?
I have danced ever since I can remember and have always had a fascination with Anna Pavlova. I feel completely free and "in the moment" when I dance.
Dancing is in my bones and I cannot be without it; it is part of who I am.
What do you like about teaching dance?
I absolutely love sharing my love of Dance with others and witness people come alive and thrive. Dance strengthens confidence in people in general and it's very rewarding to see people grow and flourish.
What's your favourite quote about dance and why?
"Learn it as though you will never be able to master it. Hold it as though you are in constant fear of losing it"
-Confucius
I, too, continue to learn along with you. Every experience, every lesson, every new dance move adds to our essence.
Why did you start dancing?
When I was a baby and even though I hadn't learnt to walk, I was dancing with my hands and arms when I listened to the music, this is my mom's story about me. As far as I am concerned dancing is part of my DNA and me.
What do you think most people do not know about dance but should know?
EVERYONE has their own unique style in which to dance, no matter your age, ability or music preference. Every culture the world over incorporates dance and movement in some way. It is innate in us all. Dance is a part of what makes us Human.
