QnA with Alicia
Why did you start dancing?
I started dancing because all my sisters had danced for many years prior and it seemed fun. I took my first Ballet class at three years old and now I can't imagine my life without dance.
What do you like most about dancing?
I love how creative you can be with it, and being able to express myself in unique ways every time I dance. It's also challenging in the best possible way.
What do you like most about teaching dance?
My favourite thing about teaching is seeing my students grow as dancers and individuals, and how rewarding it is to watch their skills develop alongside their confidence and passion.
What do you think most people do not know about dance but should know?
It's so much more than just getting the steps right; it’s about how you perform and bring those movements to life.
What's your favourite quote about dance and why?
“Dance enables you to find yourself and lose yourself at the same time.” Dance has played such a defining role in who I am today, and is so immersive and freeing.
